Jonathan grew up in Petaluma and graduated from Petaluma High School. He spent several years living in the South Bay while managing hotels. The draw of Sonoma County was too great and he returned and spent the next decade working in hotel management, specializing in the final construction and opening of hotels.

Wanting to spend more time with his family he and his wife, Koihana, opened Hapa Designs which offers a wide variety of photo gifts, personalized clothing and promotional products.  They have expanded their offerings to include custom embroidery, laser engraved and cut items, and custom .

When not working, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family, especially in the outdoors, reading, and watching documentaries.  

My goal is simple, to ensure the best possible public safety for our residents.  I will work tirelessly to ensure this goal.
